I just LOVE the Alex Birthday image. I don't do enough boy type cards and I just thought this image was so fun. I colored him with Primsa Pencils and used markers on the balloons and for the background. I dug out a long forgotten border punch (that I can't recall the name of), wove some ribbon through it and tied a bow at the top. I think it turned out pretty cute♥

Celebrate Summer!

Hello dear friends, I'm excited to share two of Mabelle's new summer digis, "Floaty Boy" and "Floaty Girl" with you today.   When I first saw these, they reminded me of my grandchildren... just like fish in the water all summer long!  I just had to have these for two July birthdays.

I colored both images with Copic markers and used some new patterned paper I found recently, "Hootenanny" from My Mind's Eye.  Just give me bright colors that pop!

Today I'm sharing with you a little "COLOR RECIPE" using Copics Markers 

and one of the stamps in the set "Sweet Taste of Summer"

Sometimes we are short of time when it comes to coloring, so by using a simple "color recipe" we have a handy and a quick tool to inspire us and get those creative juices going. The example above is one of those quick examples of applying color in a simple way and using basic shading.

When looking for color palette inspiration I mostly use Pinterest and look for color combinations that catches my eye. The above photo was my starting point when selecting my Copic Markers.

COLOR RECIPE:

Purples: V12, V06, V17

Greens: YG23, YG13, G07

Oranges: YR16, YR04

Yellows: Y15, Y19

Peach, Pinks, Browns: R22, R02, E21, E33, E13

Hi everyone!  It's Audrey from the DT here with you today and it's my first time posting on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog!   This one is going to be short and sweet as my computer has been shutting down on me about every 5 minutes:(  Today I am sharing Amelie to the Beach which you can find at WHIMSY AND STARS STUDIO SHOP and it's available for Instant Download - woo hoo!!

I have colored this cute with Copics, cut out with Sizzix dies and added a Sizzix die frame.  DP is from Fancy Pants Designs - isn't it cute and goes so perfectly with this awesome image?!?  Sand pail/sand sticker is from Jolee's Boutique, sentiment from Dorcerela Designs and cut with Lil Inkers die.  I hope you like it and remember, you can find her and all the other of Mabelle's FABULOUS images at WHIMSY AND STARS STUDIO SHOP.
